Now it is time to see why an expedition to the SS Aleutian is so much more than just the diving part!  This is looking across Uyak Bay at the old, abandoned cannery in which we stayed from Amook Island.
Steele Davis, who now owns the cannery, took us in his boat to do some site seeing and fishing around the area after our diving was done for the day.
This fox was guarding the wheelhouse, not the hen house.  ;-)  He becomes quite friendly when you are cleaning fish, hoping that you might give him a little something.  He is a bit shy and is careful to not come to close, however!
Nothing made Sondra (far right) happier than when she was catching lots of fish!  She was ready to wrestle with any bears who wanted her fish.  When this young Kodiak brownie started eyeing her pile of salmon, she turned to Steele and exclaimed, "hey Steele, he's not going to mess with my fish, is he!!??"
She told him to go catch his own, so he wandered back into the brush where he came from....
Hey these were just humpies anyway, but they were still pretty good eating!
I've never seen Andrew Driver having so much fun catching fish, you should have seen the smile on his face!
Heading back to the cannery for the evening after some fun fishing and kayaking.
Here's a few of the artifacts we retrieved.
And here's us... what an awesome expedition to dive a fantastic passenger liner in one of the most beautiful places on earth!
Now it's time to board our Cessna 206 float plane and head back into the "civilized" world!  I hope you have enjoyed these pictures of our incredible adventure!
