These are pictures from Beneath The Sea, the world's largest consumer dive show.  The 2002  Beneath The Sea took place at the New Jersey Meadowlands Exposition Center, just outside of New York City, March 22-24, 2002.  These pictures were taken on March 23, 2002.  (Continued from Page I).

DISCLAIMER:  The pictures on these pages are primarily of notable people in wreck and technical diving.  Just because someone's picture is here does NOT mean in any way that I condone, endorse or support their diving skills or practices, ethics, business practices, how they run their boat, what they post on the Internet, etc. etc. etc.  I feel compelled to say this because the technical diving community seems to be very fragmented, political, at each other's throats half the time, and getting more so.  Also - some of my comments here may be a bit tongue-in-cheek, so don't take everything so seriously!

At any rate, Beneath The Sea is the one time of year in which everyone sets aside their differences just for a couple of days, and has a big party before the dive season begins.

Dan Bartone, captain of the Independence out of Toms River, New Jersey, big Artie Kirchner, captain of the Margie II out of Hattaras, North Carolina, and Frankie Pellegrino of the New York City Police Department Scuba Team.  Big Artie is an old timer and is famous for his various antics on the wrecks down in North Carolina.

Bob Ryan, co-captain of the Seeker.

Andrew Driver, Christine Dennison, and "Ken at the Science Store" of Mad Dog Expeditions of New York.  The are showing off a Buddy Inspiration CCR on the left, and a Cis-Lunar CCR on the right.  They are now probably the largest Inspiration dealer in the country, and seem to be selling them like hot cakes.

Mad Dog gets their bread and butter by running unique technical and adventure diving expeditions.

Terry Martzall, crewmember on the Seeker.

Shipwreck owner and explorer extraordinaire, John Chatterton.  He always seems to be walking around and making trouble.

Frankie Pellegrino examines a Steam Machines Prism Topaz closed-circuit rebreather, as its creator Peter Ready looks on.

Howard Klein, captain of the luxury Long Island dive boat Eagles Nest.  You can always expect great steaks on his boat.

Ron Scorese, instructor trainer of everything.

Hank Garvin, co-captain of the Wahoo.
